Rep. Tim Leonard – Evergreen (HD25)

Representative Leonard was born and raised in a Detroit suburb and paid his tuition for a private high school education. He earned an academic scholarship to attend Hillsdale College and graduated magna cum laude with a BS degree in Business with minors in Economics and English. He moved to Denver to earn an MBA in Real Estate Finance from Denver University.
Representative Leonard has worked 30 years in the commercial real estate industry in the Denver metro area and owns a development management and consulting firm. He has managed land development projects, built retail buildings, leased shopping centers, brokered land transactions, and advised numerous local towns and cities on negotiations and financial analysis. He has been a licensed real estate broker and member of the International Council of Shopping Centers since 1984 and 1987.
In 2011, Representative Leonard partnered with his son, Peter, and purchased a Dazbog Coffee franchise in Castle Rock. He thinks the best way for his kids to learn how to work hard and help others, is to work at an early age. So far, three of his children have worked at the coffee shop. In 2015, with four other board members, Representative Leonard helped start a new K-12 classical charter school in Golden, Golden View Classical Academy. Representative Leonard renovated an office building with $2.0M of private donations and opened in Sept 2015 with 500 students and a waiting list for more. Representative Leonard has served on the Parish and Finance Councils of the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception and Holy Ghost Church. He was appointed to fill the HD25 vacancy in January 2016, and lives in Evergreen with his six children – two in college, two in high school, and two in grade school. Raising healthy, holy, and happy children is Representative Leonard’s vocation and primary goal.
