Representative Susan Beckman has lived in Littleton for over 30 years. She comes to the Legislature as a seasoned executive with extensive experience in finance, contract management, emergency management and information technology. She also has been an Arapahoe County elected official.
Representative Beckman served as an Office Director in the Colorado Department of Human Services. She oversaw facilities management and construction projects for 285 state owned and operated buildings across the State of Colorado. She was responsible for human resources for an organization of over 5,000 employees, many of them direct care and health care professionals.
Representative Beckman is committed to values of limited government, low taxes, and accountability to the citizens. She was an effective and respected Arapahoe County Commissioner from 2001-2013. In that role, she championed many transportation projects and leveraged funding from federal, state and local sources for congested intersections in the region such as; C-470 and Santa Fe, Arapahoe Road and I-25, and South Parker Road and Arapahoe Road.
Representative Beckman is married to the Mayor of Littleton, Bruce Beckman. He is a retired Army active duty and Colorado Army National Guard veteran, and a retired Littleton Police Officer. Their children, Jesse and Mallory, are recent graduates of Colorado State University in Fort Collins. Both parents are proud to see them successful and gainfully employed.
Representative Beckman serves on the House Health, Insurance, and Environment Committee, the House Finance Committee and the House Appropriations Committee.
