Representative Stephen Humphrey is a military veteran and former police officer who, prior to taking office, worked as a mental health counselor for the Sheriff’s Office in Cheyenne, Wyoming. He provided substance abuse evaluations and referral services to inmates who needed to overcome their addictions in order to stay out of jail and lead productive lives. Rep. Humphrey is a marriage counselor who knows first-hand the stresses that Weld County families face in our culture and tough economy. He is a member of a local church in Eaton and worships there with his wife, Christine, and nine year old son, David.
Rep. Humphrey and his wife have been married for 20 years and enjoy living in the town of Ault, Colorado. The Humphrey family enjoys taking advantage of Colorado’s natural beauty, setting aside time for hiking, biking, camping, fishing, canoeing, and snow shoeing.
Rep. Humphrey is the ranking member on the House State, Veterans, and Military Affairs Committee and also serves on the House Health, Insurance, and Environment Committee.
