Rep. Kim Ransom – Douglas County (HD 44)

Representative Kim Ransom has been involved in politics since 1984. She has been a part of grassroots efforts such as phoning and walking, fundraising, county chair for both primary and general election seasons, and recruiting volunteers. She has been active in the Douglas County GOP since 1990 where she has been elected to multiple positions for the county party, including precinct committeeperson, district captain, secretary, and bonus member to State, Congressional (4th, 5th, and 6th) and Judicial assemblies. Delegate to county, state, national, congressional and judicial assemblies/conventions, as well as state senate and house districts. She currently serves as a Vice Chair for Colorado’s 4th Congressional District.

Aside from her political activities, Representative Ransom has also served on the Douglas County Planning Commission. She served 2 terms, holding the offices of Chair, Vice Chair, and Secretary. While she served on the planning commission, she attended hearings after researching land use proposals prepared by the county planning department.

She has a Master’s of Business Administration (MBA) from California State University, Long Beach, a BA in Communication Studies from California State University, Sacramento and a BS in Business Administration (emphasis in Marketing) from California State University, Sacramento.

For the last 28 years, Kim has lived in Douglas County where she raised four children.

Representative Ransom serves on the House Health, Insurance, and Environment Committee, the House Local Government Committee, and the House Public Health Care and Human Services Committee.
