House Republican Whip Perry Buck – Windsor (HD 49)

Representative Perry Buck attended Greeley West High School where she earned nine letters in track, swimming, tennis and basketball. In 1984, she graduated from Pepperdine University in Malibu, California with a degree in English. Representative Buck also did graduate work in accounting at Ft. Lewis College in Durango, Colorado.

Representative Buck was an insurance agent with New York Life until she suspended her insurance business to run for office. Prior to starting her insurance business, Representative Buck was the president and CEO of Northern Colorado Event Planning, LLC.

In 1999, Representative Buck was appointed by Governor Owens as the Northeast Business Development Representative for the Colorado Office of Economic Development. She helped facilitate economic development in the rural communities of Northeastern Colorado.

Representative Buck served two years as Secretary for the Colorado Republican Party and then four years as the Vice-Chair of the Colorado Republican Party. Prior to those positions, she was the Weld County GOP Chair. Representative Buck was first elected in 2008 and re-elected in 2010, in Weld County for County Council at-Large.

In October of 2011, Representative Buck was elected President of the Colorado Federation of Republican Women. She also currently serves as 1st VP for the Greeley Republican Women and Secretary for the Colorado Republican Party.

Representative Buck is and has been involved in many civic organizations, including Rotary, United Way of Weld County, Weld County Partners, Senior Resource Services, Habitat for Humanity, Board of Northern Colorado Legislative Alliance, Greeley Chamber of Commerce, Progressive 15 and the Weld County Republican Party. She attends the Greeley Wesleyan Church.

Representative Buck is married to Ken Buck, the current member of the US House of Representatives for Colorado’s 4th Congressional District. She has two step children, Cody, a graduate of West Point Academy and Kaitlin, a graduate of Clemson University in South Carolina. The Bucks live in Windsor, Colorado and enjoy gardening, sports and reading and fighting for Republican principles.

Representative Buck serves on the House Agriculture, Livestock, and Natural Resources Committee and the House Transportation and Energy Committee.
